Mirror, Mirror

Okay, so this started out as some serious fan art for Hector Plasm, the bitchin comic made by Benito Cereno III and Nate Bellegarde. I'm probably still going to finish that original piece at some point (along with more Hellboy stuff), but in the beginning, all I could think about was "What would happen if Hector sharted out some humor?" And this is what happened.

     Don't judge me.

Solidification.

As we continue to work on this project, there may be some tweaks, here and there, to the outfit, but this is what we've arrived at. Asymmetrical. Sleak. Futuristic, but practical. Armored, but dexterous.

Strong, but destructable.

Action Concept

This isn't the final design of Olivia, our main hero. But rather a sketching of how she may look in action. It's really rough, and I'm not pleased with the execution, but we love the idea of her raw physical power affecting everything around her. There'll be a lot of that.

More throw away designs.

The many stages of Olivia.
These ones were maybe a bit too scifi. We were looking at a lot of Mass Effect stuff.

Suit up.

So, we took another direction with conceptualizing. Designing for men, we thought we could reverse engineer the look to fit our main lady. We are both influenced by Mass Effect as a game series, and some of that design crept into our shit here. As the story developed, so did our design. So we tossed out most of what you see here, and some of what you'll see in the near future, except for a few basics of shape and composition.

Pre-Prelims

Nate and I are in the process of putting together a sort of mini-pitch for SDCC, which he'll be at.

These next images are not part of it, but rather the beginnings of our brainstormings. Thanks to Nate, I think I've come a long way in retraining my mind as far as monster design goes, but some of these are still pretty good.

These designs are just super simple concepts for a uniform for our main character. Again, we've come a long way. You'll see soon enough.
